About Capessa

Capessa aims to connect more member than anywhere in the world. Our unique web platform fosters communities that are built and sustained by trust and inspired by a member everyday needs. Capessa lets member create and join online groups for the people in their life. The groups come with tools to coordinate schedules, share pictures and information and even trade items. Through a patent-pending innovation called Ripple, member can tap into the knowledge of their extended networks, by allowing their friends to share a post with their groups, who can then share with their groups, and so on. Information flows to the broadest and most relevant audience. Capessa also connects member in local communities. Every Capessa member is automatically joined to a local group, where member in an area can share local recommendations, and event information; they can even trade items with other local member. Every local group is connected to each of the members private groups (family, club, school, team), creating a powerful stream of personally relevant information that flows intelligently to member in the local community.

The Capessa Story

In 2004, a husband and father of two young boys decided to take a chance and leave the security of his job to follow a dream. He believed he had a better way for companies to internally communicate, and thought he could redesign the knowledge management landscape.

Working from home for the first time since his children were born, Sang Kim found that not only did companies not know how to share information effectively, but neither did member as exemplified by his wife constantly searching online for information about parenting. She spent hours upon hours across multiple websites, with no one source of information no way to filter the information she did find, and in essence, wasting precious time.

Kim realized he could take all of these tools, bulletin boards, emails, phone tag, and the like, and filter them into one website designed not only to help his wife, but new member around the globe.

Capessa was born.

In the spring of 2006, Sang was introduced to Rory Murray, a fellow veteran of the online marketing space and a widow and single member to her 5-year old daughter. After learning more about the vision of Capessa and its ability to empower member and make their lives easier, Rory made a decision to return to the online arena and joined Sang to help build out the Capessa management team and execute this vision. The core team has continued to expand with other industry veterans, who are also member & Dads, and who understand the realities of being in busy families and the challenges that member face everyday.

Capessa understands that anyone can create a portal, and that nowadays, social networking sites are a dime a dozen. What separates Capessa from the pack is that it goes beyond the normal website concept and evolves into an actual forum of peers  each one a trusted source, a wealth of information to be shared by other member  asking questions, helping to placate the uncertainness of the new mother, while offering a unique milieu where member know that despite how overwhelmed they might feel, they are in fact, not alone.

Capessa goes beyond the basic member portal, providing world class communication, coordination and knowledge sharing capabilities thats rarely attained by even the most savvy corporation, let alone the Main Street member. Capessa creates a supporting network that allows members to communicate in a whole new way that is based on their existing trusted network but can intelligently extend through this network to reach the experience of millions of members.

Most importantly, Capessa is about helping members in performing the most important job in the world. Being a member.
